Dear Glenwood Families,
It is with great pleasure that I write this welcoming letter as the incoming principal of Glenwood R-VIII School District. I am so excited to get an opportunity to join the extraordinary Glenwood family and community. I have had the occasion to meet most of the instructors and support staff, and I can already tell that this is truly a special place. I am looking forward to the most exciting part of this coming year- meeting the students and families I will have the privilege of serving. As the year progresses, I plan to spend a large portion of time getting to know each of you, your children, the staff, and community, and familiarizing myself with the unique needs of our district.
I am passionate about education. I have served in the K-12 field for over 20 years, and have also served as a higher education instructor for the past 5 years. I have dedicated my entire career to providing quality education for every student I served, and I do not intend to stop now. In keeping with the mission of the district, our staff has determined that our yearly mission will be this: to make this school year the best ever! I intend to work with you, the staff, and the entire Glenwood community to ensure we do this by providing our students experiences that are rigorous and relevant. This will quickly occur if we all work together to build positive relationships that foster a safe, supportive learning environment and student connection.
To support this, I want each of you to know it is very important that I treat everyone who visits our district with the utmost respect. I will have an open-door policy and value all stakeholders’ opinions. Please feel free to contact me via email or phone call to share concerns, or points of pride.
