Individuals associated with the Glenwood School District have tested positive for Coronavirus. To ensure the safety and welfare of our students, we have made the decision to move to distance learning after this school day concludes. School will be closed from October 29th-November 6th. We will resume regular seated instruction on Monday, November 9th. Learning packets are being sent home today with all students for the days we will be closed. These packets will include daily work that students are responsible for completing, and teachers will be available to assist students each day with completing the assignments. Teachers will be in contact with parents about the procedures specific to their grade level. Packets will be turned in on Monday, November 9th, when school resumes. All extra-curricular activities will be canceled during this closure as well. Transportation will still be provided for all Glenwood high school students. Thank you.
We would like to let parents and students know that school will resume on Tuesday, September 8th. Baseball and softball practice will resume on Tuesday after school as well. Masks or face coverings will not be required for students, but they are recommended. Parent transportation for students to and from school is highly encouraged if possible, but please keep in mind that the school building will not be open until 7:30AM. Also, learning packets can be dropped off tomorrow any time between 8:00AM-8:00PM. Tables will be set up in front of the school with boxes for each grade level.
Learning packet pick-up is tomorrow, 8:00AM-5:00PM, at the front entrance of the school. Please use the parent pick-up lanes and remain in your vehicle. Thank you!
Distance Learning plans will be implemented for the first two weeks of school. Teachers will be contacting parents and students to describe the procedures we will follow during this time.
New student registration at Glenwood will be held on August 6th and 7th, 8:00AM-3:00PM each day. Parents/guardians will need to bring proof of residency and shot records. If the student will be entering kindergarten, a birth certificate is also required. Please pass the word on to anyone who may have a new student at Glenwood this upcoming year! Thank you!
The 8th grade graduation ceremony will be live-streamed on June 2 at 6:00PM. The Glenwood Facebook page can be found at the following link: https://www.facebook.com/Glenwood-R-8-Mustangs-107788572593917
Summer school will begin on June 8! Doors will open at 7:30AM and temperature checks will take place for every student. Breakfast and lunch will be served each day, free of charge. If you already registered your child for summer school earlier this spring, you do NOT need to register them again. However, please pay close attention to the bus drop off and pick up times. There have been changes due to the addition of another bus route. If you have not enrolled your child, you can do so on the first day of summer school just outside the front doors of the school. Please note, a bus will not be available to take students to Boys and Girls Club after school. Thank you!
Some reminders...food distribution will continue on Tuesday and Thursday, 7:30AM-10:30AM, until May 12th. Learning packets and student belongings are also available to be picked up at this time if you haven’t already collected these items within the last two weeks. Finally, caps, gowns, and Hilburn picture forms will be available for 8th grade students to pick up tomorrow during the food distribution time.
There will be NO SCHOOL March 23rd-April 3rd to promote the health and well being of our Glenwood community regarding the Coronavirus. Please see the attached statement.
